La Galerie Italienne est heureuse de présenter du 10 octobre 2017 au 25 novembre 2017 la première exposition de Maurizio Donzelli à Paris.
L’exposition « Visible / Invisible », présentée par la Galerie Italienne et curaté par Francesco Poli, a été pensée en relation directe avec le nouvel espace de la galerie, au 15 rue du Louvre.
Maurizio Donzelli est un artiste contemporain Italien, né en 1958, qui vît et travaille à Brescia.
Il expose pour la première fois en 1988 à la Galerie Massimo Minini. Parmi ses nombreuses expositions, il a été sélectionné plusieurs fois par Axel Vervoordt pour les expositions "Intuition" (2017), "Proportio" (2015), "TRA Edge Of Becoming" (2011) et "In-finitum" (2009) au Palazzo Fortuny, à Venise.
En 2012, Palazzo Fortuny lui dédie une exposition personnelle "Metamorfosi", curaté par Andrea Viliani.
En 2015, il expose au Museo Nazionale Romano au Palazzo Altemps à Rome.
Dans cette exposition sont présentées trois différentes séries de l’artiste :
- La série Mirrors où un prisme à l’intérieur de la composition vient tordre l’image sous-jacente lorsque le spectateur se déplace autour de l’oeuvre.
- La série Disegni del quasi où le dessin acrylique symbolise un processus de découverte à partir du début, lorsque le crayon touche le papier et que l’image commence à prendre forme.
- La série Giardini, tapisseries réalisées dans les Flandre où l’artiste observe comment l’image peut-être manipulée au travers d’artifices techniques.
« Visible / Invisible », titre de l’exposition, est un hommage à l’essai Le visible et l’invisible de Maurice Merleau-Ponty, philosophe d’importance cruciale pour la méditation théorique sur laquelle se base la recherche de Donzelli.

Galerie Italienne is proud to present Maurizio Donzelli's first solo show in Paris, from October 10 to November 25.
" Visible / Invisible ", curated by Francesco Poli, was thought in direct relation with gallery space.
Maurizio Donzelli was born in 1958, he lives and works in Brescia (Italy).
He exhibited for the first time in 1988, at Galleria Massimo Minini. Among his numerous exhibitions, he was selected several times by Axel Vervoordt for the exhibitions "Intuition" (2017), "Proportio" (2015), "TRA Edge Of Becoming" (2011) and "In - finitum" (2009) at Palazzo Fortuny, in Venice.
In 2012, Palazzo Fortuny dedicates him a solo exhibition " Metamorfosi ", curated by Andrea Viliani.
In 2015, he exposed at the Museo Nazionale Romano in Palazzo Altemps in Rome.
In this exhibition are presented three different series:
- Mirrors, where prismatic lenses twist the underlaying image in a way that causes it to appear to be ever changing according to the viewer’s position.
- Disegni del quasi, where the acrylic drawing symbolizes a process of discovery from the incipit, when the pencil touches the paper and the sign/image starts to take form.
- Giardini, tapestries made in Flanders where the artist observes how the image may be manipulated through technical artifices.
"Visible/invisible", exhibition's title, is a tribute to the Maurice Merleau-Ponty's essay The visible and the Invisible.
Maurice Merleau-Ponty was a philosopher of crucial importance for the theoretical meditation on which the artist's search bases itself.
